Pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran PQRST terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Teks Cerpen pada Siswa Kelas XI SMA

This study aims to determine the effect of the PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, State, and Test) method on learning to understand reading in short story texts. This research used Pre-Experimental Design approach with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. Data were collected by elaborating the problem through interviews. Data analysis was carried out by looking at differences in student learning outcomes before and after being treated using the PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, State, and Test) method. The normality and reliability tests were also conducted before examining the differences obtained in the pretest and posttest scores. The normality test indicated that the data follows a normal distribution, as evidenced by a graph resembling a symmetric bell curve and a significance value of 0.064 > 0.05. Similarly, the Shapiro-Wilk test produced a final value of 0.086 > 0.05, which suggests that the data is normally distributed. Subsequently,The results showed that there was a difference between the learning outcomes of understanding the reading of short story texts from the pre-test and post-test scores. This can be concluded by the acquisition of T test results using SPSS which shows Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of < 0.001. Because the value of Asymp. Sig. < 0.05, it can be interpreted that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning "There is a significant effect of the PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, State, and Test) learning method on the ability to read short story text".
