Abstract

Indonesia has traditional snacks that need to be preserved, such as jenang, wajik, jadah, and madumongso. The process of making traditional snacks is still done manually, one of which is the stirring process. Therefore, a jenang stirring tool using a machine was developed. To make the stirring process more effective and efficient, production costs are also lower. The method used is to directly involve partners. The team will understand what the partners want. So that when it is finished, the tool can be used properly. From the results of the community service that has been done, positive progress has been obtained, especially from the results of the economic analysis. The economic analysis was carried out by calculating the cost of machine depreciation, labor costs, maintenance costs, and also electricity costs. Also analyzed the break-even point to determine the comparison of production costs. The difference in production costs incurred between the conventional cooking process and using a machine, in one month with a production capacity of 20 kg/day, obtained a difference of IDR 2,636,000. This occurred due to an increase in the production process from only 300 kg/month to 600 kg/month. By using machines, the number of workers does not need to be increased, considering the lighter workload carried out every day.
