This study comprehensively analyzes the synergies of the economic partnership between Indonesia and Uganda, focusing on bilateral trade, potential foreign direct investment (FDI), and the role of economic diplomacy and institutional framework. Although both countries have great potential to complement each other in economic growth, their partnership remains underexplored. Using qualitative research methods, this study identifies current trade patterns and dynamics, incorporates drivers and barriers to two-way FDI, and assesses the effectiveness of diplomatic and institutional efforts in facilitating economic relations. Initial findings suggest a significant gap between actual trade volumes and investment flows and their potential, often due to a lack of market information, logistical constraints, and non-tariff barriers. Further analysis reveals that sectors such as agriculture, mining, and manufacturing have significant opportunities to increase trade and investment. In addition, the study emphasizes the importance of proactive economic diplomacy and strengthening institutional frameworks, including bilateral agreements and more coordinated investment promotion, to mitigate risks and enhance investor confidence, thereby maximizing economic synergies and promoting inclusive growth.
