Strategi Menghafal Al-Qur'an Di Pondok Pesantren Ibnu Taimiyah Sumpiuh Banyumas

Abstract

In Islamic boarding school education, memorizing the Quran also aims to shape students' character, such as discipline, patience, sincerity, and responsibility. Integrated memorization strategies with spiritual development, such as cultivating good manners toward the Quran, pure intentions, and closeness to Allah SWT, make the memorization process a means of developing an Islamic personality, not merely a cognitive achievement. The strategy for memorizing the Quran at Ibnu Taimiyah Islamic Boarding School, Sumpiuh, Banyumas, is necessary to ensure that the memorization process is effective, focused, and meaningful, and capable of producing a generation of high-quality, morally upright Quran memorizers committed to upholding the Word of Allah throughout their lives. This study aims to examine in-depth the strategy for memorizing the Quran implemented at Ibnu Taimiyah Islamic Boarding School, Sumpiuh, Banyumas, as an effort to develop students who are not only strong in memorization but also possess discipline, perseverance, and a strong spirituality. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, focusing on exploring the practices, experiences, and meanings constructed by caregivers, ustaz, and students in the process of memorizing the Quran. The results show that the Quran memorization strategy at the Ibnu Taimiyah Islamic Boarding School in Sumpiuh, Banyumas, is systematically developed through a combination of spiritual, pedagogical, and managerial approaches. From a spiritual perspective, cultivating a sound intention, consistent worship, and strengthening etiquette towards the Quran are the main foundations of the memorization process.
