Integrating Deep Learning into Problem-Based Learning: Enhancing Relational Understanding in Trigonometry

This study examines the model Problem Based Learning’s effect that has been integrated by Deep Learning approach on the relational understanding of students in trigonometry. A quantitative method with true experimental design is used, meanwhile the type of research is posttest-only design. The sample is 58 students of grade X from SMA A. Wahid Hasyim, divided into an experimental group () receiving PBL integrated with Deep Learning, and the control group () receiving conventional learning model. The instrument was a validated essay posttest. Data were analyzed by using mean score of both groups independently and the statistics of inferential that contains hypothesis test and effect size test. The results came up as the mean score of the experimental group () was significantly better than the mean score of the control group (). The hypothesis using t-test resulted as , and the effect size score was (very large effect). Thus, the PBL model with the Deep Learning as an approach has a significant effect on enhancing students' relational understanding of trigonometry.
