The Puncak Jowin Tourism Area, located in Winong Village, Kalidawir District, Tulungagung Regency, has considerable potential to be developed as a nature-based tourism destination and to support the Tulungagung Geopark program. However, the existing condition of the area reveals several challenges, including inadequate facilities, limited safety measures, inefficient circulation systems, and the absence of comprehensive sustainable planning. This study aims to formulate a tourism area planning concept by integrating responsive and sustainable architectural approaches. The study employed the Glass Box method, including problem identification, primary and secondary data collection, site analysis, spatial requirement analysis, structural and utility analysis, and concept development. The results indicate that responsive architectural principles are implemented through building orientation, circulation planning, adaptation to site topography, and optimization of natural lighting and ventilation. Sustainable architectural principles are applied through environmentally friendly materials, solar energy utilization, vegetation conservation, and the provision of ecological open spaces. The proposed design also provides supporting facilities, including camping grounds, cottages, cafés, plazas, mosques, pavilions, pedestrian pathways, public toilets, and parking areas to improve visitor services. The proposed planning is expected to enhance environmental quality, visitor comfort and safety, and promote sustainable tourism development in Tulungagung Regency.
