Abstract

Taman Pagadungan Indah is one of the public open spaces located in an urban residential area that plays an important role in accommodating community activities. The presence of urban parks not only serves as a recreational facility but also functions as an essential element in improving environmental quality and community well-being. This study aims to identify the physical quality and functional aspects of Taman Pagadungan Indah as a public open space, as well as to evaluate users’ perceptions of its condition and utilization. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through field observations, interviews with park users, and documentation of the available facilities within the park area. The results indicate that Taman Pagadungan Indah provides various facilities that support both active and passive activities, including seating areas, pedestrian pathways, and open spaces for recreational and social interaction. However, several aspects still require improvement, such as the condition of toilet facilities, the need for better lighting in certain areas, and greater attention to accessibility for people with disabilities. Therefore, regular maintenance and proper management are necessary to preserve the quality and sustainability of the park as an inclusive public space. With appropriate improvements and management strategies, Taman Pagadungan Indah has the potential to develop into a community activity center that contributes positively to the surrounding environment and enhances the quality of life of local residents.
