The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parenting styles and self-confidence on critical thinking skills. The IPAS used in this study was a survey method with multiple regression analysis techniques. The instruments for IPAS critical thinking skills were taken from a test in the form of 10 essay questions, a 34-item parenting style questionnaire, and a 34-item self-confidence questionnaire. The sample consisted of 34students selected using the Slovin technique. Data processing resulted in a calculated F value of 96.860 and a Sig value of 0.000, so that 0.000 < 0.005. The conclusions of this study are (1) there is a significant influence of parenting patterns and self-confidence together on IPAS critical thinking skills, (2) there is a significant effect of parenting patterns on IPAS critical thinking skills, because the Sig value = 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount = 12.412 (3) there is a significant effect of self- confidence on IPAS critical thinking skills, because the Sig value = 0.001 < 0.05 and tcount= 3.530.
