This study aims to (1) examine the influence of perceptions of the school literacy movement and discipline on students understanding of science concepts at a public junior high school in South Tangerang (2) examine the influence of discipline on studens science learning at a public junior high school in South Tangerang. The research approach used quantitative research with a survey method. The population involved in this study were all seventh-grade students at a public junior high school in South Tangerang. The sampling technique used a combination of cluster, proportional, and random sampling. A sample of 84 students was selected, consisting of 28 students at public junior high school 4, 28 students at public junior high school 21 and 28 students at public junior high school 17 in South Tangerang. The results showed that there was a significant influence between perceptions of the school literacy movement and discipline on students understanding of natural science concepts in the solar system topic at the seventh-grade public junir high school in South Tangerang.
