This study aims to determine: (1) the influence of independent learning and self-efficacy on critical thinking skills in Science, (2) the influence of independent learning on critical thinking skills in Science, and (3) the influence of self-efficacy on critical thinking skills in Science of public junior high school students in Bekasi City. The method used was a quantitative survey with a sample of 90 eighth-grade students from two public junior high schools, drawn using purposive random sampling, using a multiple linear regression statistical model. The instruments were a Likert-type questionnaire for independent learning and self-efficacy, and an objective test for critical thinking skills in Science. The results of the study indicate: (1) There is a significant influence of learning independence and self-efficacy together on critical thinking skills in Science, with a Sig.= 0.000 < 0.05 and Fcount= 29.644, (2) There is a significant influence of learning independence on critical thinking skills in Science, with a Sig.= 0.006 < 0.05 and tcount= 2.819 (3) There is a significant influence of self-efficacy on critical thinking skills in Science, with a Sig.= 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount= 5.679. The dominant factor influencing critical thinking skills in Science of Junior High School students in Bekasi City is self-efficacy.
