Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) the influence of perceptions of learning models and independent learning together on the understanding of Biology concepts of State Senior High School students in Serang Regency, 2) the influence of perceptions of learning models on the understanding of Biology concepts of State Senior High School students in Serang Regency, and 3) the influence of independent learning on the understanding of Biology concepts of State Senior High School students in Serang Regency. This study used a survey method with a quantitative approach and correlational design in State Senior High Schools in Serang Regency in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample consisted of 86 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through attitude scale instruments and tests and analyzed using the SPSS version 25 program. The results of the study: 1) there is a significant influence between perceptions of learning models and independent learning together on the understanding of biology concepts of State Senior High School students in Serang Regency. This is evidenced by a significance score of 0.000 <0.05, 2) there is a significant influence between perceptions of learning models on the understanding of biology concepts of State Senior High School students in Serang Regency. This is evidenced by a significance score of 0.001 < 0.05, and 3) there is a significant influence between learning independence on the understanding of biology concepts of state high school students in Serang Regency. This is evidenced by a significance score of 0.000 < 0.05 and a calculated t of 4.676. These findings confirm that strengthening the implementation of learning models and increasing student learning independence are essential focuses that significantly influence the understanding of biology concepts.
