Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how locus of control and self-efficacy impact mathematical problem-solving abilities. This study employs a survey method with a quantitative approach utilizing path analysis. Findings indicate: 1) A significant direct effect of locus of control on the self-efficacy of junior high school students in Bogor District, with a significance value of 0.001, which is less than 0.05, and an effect size of 28.41%; 2) A significant direct effect of locus of control on the mathematical problem-solving skills of junior high school students in Bogor District, with a significance value of 0.042, which is less than 0.05, and an effect size of 17.72%; 3) A significant direct effect of self-efficacy on the mathematical problem-solving skills of junior high school students in Bogor District, with a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, and an effect size of 29.48%; 4) A significant indirect effect of locus of control on mathematical problem-solving ability through self-efficacy among junior high school students in Bogor Regency, with a t-count of 2.347 exceeding the t-table value of 1.664, resulting in an influence of 5.62%.
