Fleksibilitas ruang dan praktik teritorialitas dalam hunian padat: Studi kasus pada sebuah hunian di Gedong Sepuluh, Kampung Bustaman, Semarang

Artikel ini mengkaji fleksibilitas ruang dan praktik teritorialitas pada hunian padat melalui studi kasus sebuah hunian di Gedong Sepuluh, Kampung Bustaman, Semarang. Pemilihan rumah ini didasarkan pada karakteristiknya sebagai hunian dengan tingkat kepadatan penghuni tertinggi, intensitas aktivitas domestik yang kompleks, dan luas lahan paling terbatas di kawasan tersebut. Oleh karena itu, rumah ini menjadi kasus yang representatif untuk memahami dinamika spasial pada kondisi hunian padat ekstrem. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi strategi spasial penghuni dalam merespons keterbatasan ruang melalui transformasi fisik dan adaptasi penggunaan ruang dalam aktivitas sehari-hari. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi lapangan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa keterbatasan lahan mendorong penghuni mengembangkan fleksibilitas ruang melalui perubahan tata letak, alih fungsi ruang, serta negosiasi penggunaan area domestik dan semi-publik secara temporal. Praktik ini menghasilkan pola teritorialitas yang cair, yaitu batas antara ruang privat, sekunder, dan publik berubah mengikuti ritme aktivitas harian penghuni. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa fleksibilitas ruang pada hunian padat tidak hanya merupakan strategi adaptasi fisik, tetapi juga membentuk mekanisme pengelolaan spasial berbasis waktu yang memperkaya pemahaman konseptual mengenai teritorialitas dalam konteks kampung kota.
