Jurnal Desain is governed by an editorial team of 35 scholars and editorial personnel representing 18 institutions across 8 provinces in Indonesia: Aceh, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Bali, and South Sumatra. The editorial structure consists of the Editor-in-Chief, 8 members of the Editorial Advisory Board, and 26 Section Editors, with designated copyediting and layout functions supporting the publication process.
Editorial members are appointed with consideration of scholarly expertise, relevance to the journal’s scope, editorial competence, publication record, institutional diversity, and commitment to publication ethics.
The Editor-in-Chief holds overall responsibility for editorial policy, final quality control, and the final editorial decision. The Editorial Advisory Board provides scholarly and strategic advice on the journal’s academic direction and development. Section Editors support manuscript handling and editorial evaluation, including verification of author revisions following peer review before providing an editorial recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief.
Editorial responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the journal’s Peer Review Process, Publication Ethics, Artificial Intelligence Policy, Competing Interest Policy, Author Guidelines, and other applicable editorial policies. Editorial recommendations at each stage serve as decision-support within the journal’s governance structure and do not replace the independent judgment of the Editor-in-Chief.
Following peer review and author revision, the Section Editor verifies the authors’ responses and the revised manuscript and provides an editorial recommendation. The Editor-in-Chief subsequently conducts a final editorial quality-control verification covering scholarly readiness, compliance with the current Author Guidelines and article template, declarations, references, authorship and metadata consistency, similarity requirements, and publication integrity.
The final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief.
