Abstract

Pertumbuhan kafe tropis yang pesat di Kota Denpasar menuntut ruang interior yang nyaman secara termal, hemat energi, dan responsif terhadap iklim setempat, tetapi strategi desain pasif pada skala interior kafe belum banyak dikaji secara sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penerapan strategi desain pasif pada interior kafe tropis berkelanjutan di Kota Denpasar melalui pendekatan multi-case study. Metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan melalui observasi lapangan, dokumentasi visual, dan studi literatur terhadap tujuh kafe yang dipilih secara purposive sampling dari sekitar lima puluh kafe yang teridentifikasi memiliki karakter desain tropis dan penerapan strategi pasif. Analisis difokuskan pada empat variabel utama, yaitu ventilasi alami, pencahayaan alami, pengendalian panas (shading), dan integrasi vegetasi, menggunakan cross-case analysis untuk mengidentifikasi pola, kesamaan, dan perbedaan penerapannya pada setiap objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pasif dominan diterapkan melalui ventilasi silang, ruang semi-terbuka, optimalisasi daylighting, secondary skin, serta vegetasi sebagai passive cooling. Keberhasilan desain pasif tampak ditentukan bukan oleh satu elemen tunggal, melainkan oleh tingkat integrasi antarstrategi dalam satu sistem ruang yang responsif terhadap iklim tropis, yang secara konseptual berpotensi mendukung kenyamanan termal, kualitas visual, efisiensi energi, dan pengalaman ruang yang lebih baik meskipun hal ini belum diverifikasi melalui pengukuran langsung. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kontribusi konseptual berupa framework integratif strategi desain pasif bagi pengembangan interior kafe tropis berkelanjutan.
