Submission Preparation Checklist

Before completing a submission to Jurnal Desain, authors must ensure that all applicable requirements below have been fulfilled.

  1. The manuscript is relevant to the Focus and Scope of Jurnal Desain, constitutes an eligible manuscript type, and presents an identifiable research object, corpus, case, artefact, practice, or relevant visual/material phenomenon.
  2. The submission constitutes original scholarly work, has not been previously published in substantially the same form, and is not under consideration by another journal, publisher, or publication venue.
  3. The manuscript has been prepared using the current official Jurnal Desain Article Template and is submitted in an editable .doc, .docx, or .rtf format.
  4. The main manuscript contains 3,500–8,000 words, excluding references, tables, figures, captions, and appendices (if any), and follows the required article structure.
  5. The title contains 10–15 words, the abstract contains 150–250 words, and 3–5 keywords or key phrases are provided. Manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia include the required English versions of the title, abstract, and keywords.
  6. The manuscript follows the required article structure and does not use a separate Literature Review, Review of Literature, Theoretical Framework, or Conceptual Framework section where prohibited by the Jurnal Desain structure.
  7. The complete information of all authors—not only the first or corresponding author—has been entered individually in OJS. Author names, affiliations, countries, email addresses, author order, and corresponding-author information are complete, accurate, and consistent with the manuscript.
  8. All figures and visual materials are properly numbered, explicitly cited in the text, provided with informative captions, appropriately sourced, and supplied at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi where applicable. Required copyright or reproduction permissions have been obtained where necessary.
  9. All tables are properly numbered, explicitly cited in the text, provided with clear titles, and remain editable rather than submitted as screenshots or raster images. Source information is provided where applicable.
  10. The manuscript contains at least 15 references, with more than 80% consisting of primary scholarly or research-based sources and more than 80% published within the last 10 years.
  11. In-text citations and reference-list entries follow APA Style, 7th Edition, have been prepared using an appropriate reference-management application, are mutually consistent, and contain accurate and bibliographically verifiable publication information.
  12. The manuscript meets the journal's overall similarity index below 20% screening threshold and complies with the journal's plagiarism, originality, text-reuse, and research-integrity requirements.
  13. The manuscript contains all mandatory declarations:
    • Artificial Intelligence Use Statement;
    • Author Contributions Statement;
    • Funding Statement;
    • Data Availability Statement; and
    • Conflict of Interest / Competing Interests Statement.
  1. Where applicable to the nature of the research, the manuscript contains the required Ethical Approval / Ethical Compliance Statement, including ethics committee or institutional review information, approval number, and year where formal ethical approval is required.
  2. A completed Author Integrity Declaration, covering all authors and signed in accordance with the requirements of the official Jurnal Desain form, is included as a supporting submission file.
  3. All additional supporting materials required for the specific study—including high-resolution visual files, permissions, ethical documentation, supplementary materials, datasets, or other relevant files—are ready for submission where applicable.
  4. All authors have approved the manuscript, the authorship order, the corresponding author designation, and submission of the manuscript to Jurnal Desain, and have read and agreed to comply with the journal's Author Guidelines and applicable editorial, publication-ethics, AI, plagiarism, copyright, open-access, and publication-charge policies.
